A Review: Hotel Parq Central

Hotel Parq Central, located on Central Avenue in Albuquerque, NM, not far from the University of New Mexico campus, is both a comfortable and historic accommodation. When the Star City Wanderers first arrived at the hotel it was after 10:00PM, however despite the late hour, the young man at the reception desk was courteous, attentive, and accommodating. We did have a few hiccups upon check-in (only one of our Key-cards worked, and getting the Air Conditioning in the room to work was a bit of a challenge), but throughout the course of the rest of our stay, the Hotel Parq Central won us over.

Hotel Parq Central has a welcoming lobby area and a lovely sitting room where guests can relax during their stay. It also boasts several amenities, including:

  • Hot Breakfast, included with the room rate

  • Free Wi-fi for Hotel Guests

  • 24-Hour Fitness Center

  • 24-Hour Outdoor Hot Tub, in a secluded locale

  • A Rooftop Bar, Apothecary Lounge

  • Facilities to host Private Events, including a picturesque outdoor patio

Initially I was uncertain about how comfortable the bed would be at this older hotel, but after a very good night’s sleep I realized that the bed was very comfortable indeed. The bathroom and shower in the room was a particularly nice surprise as it was calming and spacious, featuring a large walk-in shower, well equipped vanity area, and complimentary bath products from C.O. Bigelow.

After a very good nights’ sleep, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the lovely outdoor patio. Breakfast offerings, included: pastries and muffins, several toast options, cereal with Milk, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, hard boiled eggs, hot options including New Mexican specialties, juice, and hot coffee and tea. The fruit was seasonal and fresh, the pastries and muffins tasted homemade, and the coffee was freshly brewed. Overall, it was one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts I have ever enjoyed.

Secluded 24-Hour Hot Tub at Parq Central Hotel in Albuquerque, NM.

During our stay we were also able to take advantage of the Hot Tub which was lovely and private. We were the only guests taking advantage of that particular amenity when we visited on two separate afternoons.

Overall, the Hotel Parq Central ended up offering a comfortable accommodation in a fairly convenient location. While a bit of a walk to Old Town, we were able to walk to some nearby restaurants and attractions, and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Rates: Starting at $179.00 per night
